'Twas a week before Christmas and all the children were fizzing. For they all knew, what their parents were missing. They invited them in, With a wink and a grin, To play some fun puzzles, Some laughter, some cuddles. "What great gifts they may say," And so near to Christmas... Patience, perseverance and concentration. Using all three should result in a beautiful star, perfect for your Christmas tree. To make the star, a pentagon needs to be created first. Lots of geometry in this lesson. Panthers created Christmas cards this afternoon. We were going for a simple minimalist look. What do you think? There are a few events leading up to the end of the term.
Today as a start to instructional writing we made a traditional Finnish Christmas Fruit Plait. Panthers had to follow the written instructions to put this together. Looking at the photos they did a pretty good job. Easy to follow recipe can be found here. We've been watching parts of this very well made commentary on the Battle of Britain. At the request of the children I have placed the film on the blog for them to watch in their own time. I'm sure it won't get lost but just in case here is the learning log for the remaining two weeks. Due back the Monday 18 December. |
